This ‘before’ photo features part of a calibration lab constructed on the factory floor for testing. One of the challenges of this photo was the limit the back of the building in terms of capturing the image at an appropriate angle. The other was lighting where there is limited natural and artificial light. Additional flash fill was added with studio flash lamps. Retouching to remove the factory background also required perseverance due to the level of detail in the shot.
In the after version you’ll see that cables and marks of the floor have been removed for a cleaner look. There’s also been exposure changes in different regions of the image to darker areas of the installation.
